By creating an account on litei18n, accessible at https://litei18n.com and https://app.litei18n.com (collectively, the "Service"), or by otherwise accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. Acceptance is confirmed by checking the required consent checkbox during the account registration process.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account or use the Service. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. This age threshold is consistent with the minimum age for digital consent under the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Age Appropriate Design Code.

  • Accurate Information — You must provide truthful, accurate, and complete information during registration and keep your account information up to date.
  • Password Security — You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password and any authentication tokens. You must not share your credentials with any third party.

  • Role-Based Access — If you invite other users to your workspace, you are responsible for managing their roles (Owner, Admin, Member) and the permissions granted to them. You remain responsible for any actions taken by members of your workspace.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms. Specifically, you shall not:

  • Upload, store, or transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable under the laws of England and Wales or any applicable jurisdiction.
  • Use the AI-powered translation features to generate content that is discriminatory, hateful, or intended to deceive or manipulate individuals.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of any part of the Service.
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any billing, rate-limiting, usage-tracking, or security mechanisms of the Service.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, or similar) to access the Service in a manner that exceeds fair use or circumvents rate limits.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without our prior written consent.
  • Use BYOK API keys that have been unlawfully obtained, stolen, or that you do not have authorisation to use.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to suspend or terminate access for any User found to be in breach of this Acceptable Use Policy, at our sole discretion.

  • Growth ($24/month) — Higher limits, OTA delivery, and AI context features.
  • Business ($49/month) — Highest limits for large teams, including all OTA delivery and AI context features.

Annual billing is available at up to 25% off compared to monthly billing. All prices are in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated and are exclusive of applicable taxes.

6.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.

6.3 Auto-Renewal

All paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current price for your plan at the time of renewal.

6.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account billing settings. Upon cancellation, your paid plan features will remain available until the end of the current billing period, after which your account will be downgraded to the Free plan. No prorated refunds will be issued for the remaining portion of a billing period.

6.5 Past-Due Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to process the charge up to three additional times over a period of 14 days. If payment remains unsuccessful, your account may be downgraded to the Free plan and access to paid features may be restricted until the outstanding balance is settled.

6.6 Refund Policy

We generally do not offer refunds for subscription fees. However, if you believe you have been charged in error or have experienced a material service disruption, you may contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of the charge. Refund requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis at our reasonable discretion, in compliance with UK consumer protection law.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all translation content, keys, and other materials you upload or create using the Service ("User Content"). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your User Content to us.

7.2 Platform Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, user interface, documentation, branding, logos, and all related intellectual property, is and remains the exclusive property of Aevum Technology LTD. or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not include any right to modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.

7.3 AI-Generated Translations

Translations generated by the AI features of the Service are owned by you. However, we make no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose with respect to AI-generated translations. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating all AI-generated content before use in production environments.

7.4 Open-Source Attributions

The Service may incorporate open-source software components. A list of such components and their respective licences is available upon request. Your use of such components is subject to the terms of their respective open-source licences.

8. User-Generated Content

By uploading or creating User Content on the Service, you grant Aevum Technology LTD. a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This licence continues for the duration of your use of the Service and terminates upon deletion of your User Content or account, subject to our data retention policy.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights and permissions to upload all User Content and that such content does not infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party.

9. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

The Service allows you to supply your own Google Cloud and Google Gemini API keys ("BYOK Keys") to power AI translation features. By using the BYOK feature, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for all usage and charges incurred on your Google Cloud or Gemini accounts as a result of API calls made through the Service using your BYOK Keys.
  • You must ensure that your BYOK Keys have been lawfully obtained and that you have all necessary permissions to use them with third-party services.
  • We encrypt BYOK Keys at rest using industry-standard encryption. However, we are not liable for any unauthorised access to your keys resulting from a breach of your own account security.
  • We are not liable for any charges, overages, or costs incurred on your third-party accounts, including but not limited to Google Cloud billing.
  • You are responsible for configuring appropriate usage limits and billing alerts within your Google Cloud or Gemini account.

You may revoke or replace your BYOK Keys at any time through your workspace settings.

10. API & MCP Access

The Service provides programmatic access through API tokens and the MCP (Model Context Protocol) gateway. By using these features, you agree to the following:

  • Token-Based Authentication — API access requires valid tokens issued through the Service. Tokens are scoped to specific projects and carry per-project permissions.
  • Rate Limits — The following rate limits apply: AI translations are limited to 5 requests per minute per user; API tokens are limited to 60 requests per minute per token; Stripe-related operations are limited to 10 requests per minute per user.
  • Fair Use — You agree to use the API in a manner consistent with fair use. Excessive or abusive API usage may result in temporary rate limiting, throttling, or suspension of API access.
  • No Guaranteed Uptime SLA — Unless you have entered into a separate enterprise agreement with us, the API and MCP gateway are provided on a best-effort basis without a guaranteed uptime service-level agreement (SLA).
  • Token Security — You are responsible for the security of your API tokens. Compromised tokens should be revoked immediately through your project settings.

11. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

By using the Service, you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described in the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with and relies upon third-party service providers. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your use may also be subject to the terms and policies of the following third parties:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to the applicable third-party terms.

13. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but provide it on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous access to the Service.

We may perform planned maintenance from time to time, during which the Service may be temporarily unavailable. We will use reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance through in-app notifications or email.

Unless you have entered into a separate enterprise agreement with us that includes specific uptime guarantees, no service-level agreement (SLA) applies to your use of the Service.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

  • The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We make no warranty or representation regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any AI-generated translations. You use AI-generated content entirely at your own risk.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunity, or goodwill, arising from or in connection with your use of the Service.
  • We shall not be liable for any data loss beyond what is recoverable through our reasonable backup procedures.
  • Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty pounds sterling (£50), whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Aevum Technology LTD., its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your use of the Service in violation of applicable law; (c) any User Content you upload that infringes the rights of a third party; (d) any claims arising from your use of BYOK Keys, including third-party charges or disputes; or (e) any misuse of the Service by you or any person using your account.

16. Termination

16.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, your active subscription (if any) will be cancelled, and your data will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policy as described in our Privacy Policy.

16.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably determine that you have violated these Terms, including the Acceptable Use Policy. In cases of severe or repeated violations, termination may be immediate and without a prior warning.

16.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention and dispute resolution), subject to our data retention policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including but not limited to Sections 7, 14, 15, and 17) shall survive.

17. Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms. However, if you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve complaints within 30 days.

18. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' prior notice via email to the address associated with your account and/or through a prominent notice within the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the modified Terms, you must discontinue use of the Service and delete your account before the changes take effect.

Non-material changes (such as typographical corrections or clarifications) may be made without prior notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the date of the most recent revision.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Aevum Technology LTD. with respect to your use of the Service. These Terms supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, warranties, and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the Service. No waiver of any provision of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such provision or any other provision.
